here in australia it seems that almost anything is allowed ...

i often hear of restrictions in other countries ... no swearing or discussion of difficult topics - sex/religion etc.

As a stockholder I think that everyone should own at least one Sirius satellite radio subscription. As a miserly bastard I wouldn't pay a monthly subscription for music I could easily stuff onto my iPod.

Nothing is censored on satalite radio. Regular radio in the US is heavily censored.

I own the stock too. The service is really great. You should give it a try. I'm as cheap as they come. I don't even own a cell phone, but I'd hate to be without satalite radio.

I wish to god they would start censoring the 2 radio stations we get up here. I feel as though I'm stuck in a bloody time warp every time I hear the crap they play. I think they hould ban anything music that was popular pre 90's and give some fresh talent a new chance.

P.S
Our two stations consists of county and rock (very old rock)

All the more reason for you to subscribed to Sirius. My aged mother just got one and likes the classical channels though when she's with me, she has to endure Howard Stern. You should hear her: "What are they talking about? Seems like they've got a bunch of queers on there." Ever tried to explain anal ring toss to your mother? And nothing is censored. Absolutely nothing. Plus no commercials or very few.

I own the stock too, and it has been rather falt lately, but XM is not doing well and I think Sirius will surpass it in subscriptions.

Satellite radio already appears tapped out. There's one odd problem that they have and it is clarly exhibited in the Stern show. it's no longer interesting because there is no risk. He was more fun when you knew he was trying to get away with it.

Well, if that's what "tapped out" is, I'll take tapped out.

Interesting point badmoon..however, i will always take the uncensored airwaves to not just push boundaries but, to smash open some closed thinking that occurs and facilitate greater thought..while Stern may be entertaining.. he may not do this but, I'm guessing many others will..I myself have not looked into satellite radio..but, it sounds like something to explore..

I was reminded this weekend about why I was first intrigued by Howard Stern even before he went uncensored on satellite. This weekend Patsy Ramsey died of cancer. You'll remember that she was the former Miss West Virginia back in the 70's, but became more famous as the mother of Jon Benet Ramsey, the little girl that was murdered in her home. No one was ever convicted of that crime, but the family spent a lot of energy and money deflecting themselves as potential suspects.

When all that was going on, I remember Howard saying, "I don't know if they killed her or not. I just want to know why they dressed her up like a whore all the time." You will never get that kind of honesty on the Today Show or from any reporter. He offers the most compelling social commentary there is in the media today.

A radio that doesn't emit/play

1. The last news (every half an hour or so, at least)
2. Classical music
3. Beatle's songs
4. Serrat's or Sabina's songs
5. At least one theme from the 50's, or something by Michel Legrand, J M Jarre, Kitaro, Vangelis, et al. (orchestral ekectronic music), from time to time,

and a good professional management of public interchange chat with the audience, (I must to add I love to hear tangos 🙂 )

should be rejected. LOL!

Keep in mind that Im south american! 🙂
I haven't access to north american radios 🙁
But it could be a benefit for me! LOL!

(No offense intended!)

cheers!
