Whilst reading my copy of the London Times over breakfast I saw the the following:

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/newspaper/0,,170-2013649,00.html

In my four years here this is the first time I have seen our site mentioned in the national press.

Has anyone else seen RHP in a publication?

That's awesome...I haven't seen anything like that before, but I seem to remember someone once posting that they had seen the number plate "RHP1" on a car; not quite as good. I wonder if Russ paid for that little slot or whether the Times just decided to review us.

Correspondance chess websites don't tend to be that racy and fast moving.

My girlfriend and I lived in Thailand when there were american
soldiers on some of the bases there and we started playing
simuls at the USO club. When Gail played, the number of
spectators and players quadrupled!
Then we started doing it where I would start games on the simul,
and she would follow on behind me, playing the next move.
We were almost telepahic in that regard, it was like one person
playing.
Anyone who won a game against us would get "USO dollars"
and they were for the most part total duffers and we won 99%
of the games. The USO director said, in order to keep up interest,
let them win a few more games. So we slacked off and cut the
percentages, making wild attacks that succeeded anyway but
there were a few more winners that way.
We were mentioned in the Air Force times in an article about the
games and one time in Bangkok at the Hungarian Grotto where
a lot of people played chess, one russian I played a lot asked me
for a copy. I hesitated, running it through my head what kind
of information would pass to the russians or whoever, then
acceded since I saw copies on the mud of the road outside the
air force base.

Didn't they take any time to read Shav's posts? That is poor journalism.

One quick phone call to my mother (who pretends to read the Times) confirms it was in print with a screen shot in the supplement today.
