RUSS: Yearly membership fees?

This subject was discussed quite a bit as a possibility to support the
site, but haven't heard a word about it for some time.

I just wondered if you and Chris have worked something out yet.

Yeah, Marc and I discussed this briefly during our recent game (in
which he soundly trounced my sorry ass, I might add...), and I think
it's a great idea. Come on-- twenty bucks a year, as opposed to 20
for life? You guys deserve it, there are SO many people who spend
countless hours enjoying this site-- I'm willing to bet that most of
them spend a hell of a lot more than 20 bucks per year on things like
chess books, chess sets (I'm a compulsive collector of those, myself),
and other chess-related items that aren't nearly as much fun, and
don't do nearly as much to improve the quality of one's game. I say
do it. If you think more incentives are needed to get people to cough
up the dough, we have lots of bright folks here, I'm sure we can come
up with something.
