Morning folks. Bit of a lazy start to the day for me.
Exeter are away to Premiership side Charlton in the 3rd round of the FA Cup, a team 80ish places above Exeter in the league. Couldn't afford to go to London to watch it π
Hope y'all have a good weekend, whatever you're getting up to π

Mark,
How long have you lived in Exeter?
I do actually have an ambition to move there as some point. (I used to be a keen diver and surfer - so Exeter gives me the best options without going too far west - 4 years living in Plymouth was far enough.)
If only I could escape the dreaded M4 corridor. (Where all the IT jobs are, unfortunately)
Best of luck to Exeter FC too - they might find this one a bit of a struggle.

Hi Russ, I went to university in Exeter for the last 3 years, graduating last Summer. Moved into my own flat (renting) at the end of October, so have actually been living here, aside from university, for a little over 2 months.
Personally, I really like living here. Friends of mine here don't like it, saying it's too quiet, too small, there are hardly any small cafés to sit outside, no decent clubs, no nice shops. It's all relative though, just depends what you're used to.
My nearest city to Gower was Swansea...which is just grim. So compared to that I find Exeter, for the time being at least, a great place to live. I plan to go travelling with my best mate later in the year, or possibly June 2004 where we will go round cities in Europe like Dublin, Amsterdam, Prague, Rome, Madrid, Venice and so on. So after doing that Exeter might lose it's appeal!
There's a very nice quayside, plenty of gorgeous countryside nearby, lots of good walks, and fantastic small places such as Topsham just a few miles away. In terms of transport links and location, Exeter is pretty much the main station in the South West (well, more south west than Bristol) so is situated on a mainline for the trains, and it's not too difficult to get to by road either. And Exeter has it's own airport(!).
The centre of town is pedestrianised, and does have a smallish quaint feel to it. For shopping it's not too bad at all (I think), and it's all nice and compact. I gather though that prices (mainly accommodation prices) are one of the highest in the UK outside of London.
And yep, I'm rather fearing that Charlton are going to show just why they are in the Premiership and why Exeter are near to bottom of the 3rd Div!

Hey there Joe! How you doing? Hope you had a good Christmas π
Small village called Reynoldston. At a guess you would have stayed at Horton or Rhossili? Or Oxwich perhaps.
You're right, it's a stunning place. It was the first place in the United Kingdom to be awarded the status of Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty by the National Trust.
I am so lucky to have grown up there.

Originally posted by T1000I actually stayed on a little camp site not far from Llangennith (sp?) All I remember about it is the excellent beer (Buckley's best?) in the local pub, and the beautiful sand dunes (we were young and free then, oh yes!)
