I am on a mailing list for weird words ("Erin's Weird and Wonderful Word of the Day"😉. Here's yesterday's word:

*********************************************************
scacchic

[SKACK-kick]

a rare adjective meaning 'of or pertaining to chess'. From an Italian word
meaning 'chess'.
*********************************************************

I get a skack-kick out of that word. 😉

I don't think you can read it on the web (it used to be possible once you had subscribed to the email list, but that doesn't seem to be possible anymore either). But if you want to subscribe, go here: http://www.us.oup.com/us/subscriptions/subscribe/?view=usa (under "Daily and Weekly" ).

Well, if you don't trust Oxford University Press and their privacy policy, don't subscribe. But I didn't get any more spam after subscribing than before. And I think they didn't ask for anything else than the e-mail address.
