I have a friend who won a life size real Mini in one of these competitions. I think it was at the new Mini launch in the UK.
@wolfgang59 saidIt's great. My brorthers owned one of these way back and it was always difficult to end a race without one or more cars being thrown off.

@wolfgang59 saidBlimey Wolfie we could have been in the same gang. Although I was only 6 (maybe 7) when I was handed my Johnny Seven; I still have the detachable hand revolver somewhere.
Certainly another classic and in my top 4 Christmas prezzies ever.
Scalextric at #3.
Chopper at #2
But nothing compares to a a 9 year-old getting a Johnny Seven gun!
I never had a scalextric but I had a rival brand of smaller scale called Minic by Triang which I still have in the loft with my Hornsby train set.
I wasn’t allowed a Chopper for some reason and remain bitterly disadvantaged to this day.

@divegeester saidI never owned a chopper( born before they came out) we used to rig our own bikes up fixed wheel no brakes, I actualy learned to ride on my dads Gas bike(gasman) then when I started seniors they bought me a racing bike, great days.

Yes, I remember there was a slotcar racing track in my town. Kids would bring their kit and race each other. Much less hi/tech then, of course, and slow enough that I could follow the cars w my eyes.
@petewxyz
I'd love to play that again.... Penalties with that long plastic ladle with the Keeper, Lager & banter!!

@hells-caretaker saidand always fights over who dragged it with their finger instead of flicking it and who trod on Tommy Smith again when his legs are already solid glue!
