@Torunn saidI could never be a vaulter as I am afraid of heights and though an avid golfer for 70+ years, I’ve never had a hole in one nor a putt anywhere near that long…that went in. π

@Great-Big-Stees saidStill I believe you are a good golfer - maybe your clubs need modernising...? π

And I would be one of those "sooner or later I will end up on fairway" players. π
once upon a time
circa 1988-89
i was playing potawatomi
a lil nine hole public course in st charles, illinois
the four of us worked together making widgets during the week
on the weekends if i had been a good boy my wife would allow me to go out with my friends
on the par 3 6th?/7th? joe teed up hiz ball and whacked it with a five iron
we all watched in rapturous amazement as the ball landed softly on the green, rolled ten feet, and disappeared right where the flagstick was
did i mention there was a bulldozer involved?
course management was digging a brand new bunker right next to that very same green
they gave joe a brand new pair of shoes, a couple dozen balls, free greens fees for a year and a tiny blurb in the local paper
i was so giddy and i had exactly nothing to do with the whole affair
adrenaline is such a wonderful self-manufactured drug
@Ponderable saidThe game of golf is one which one can play from a very young age through to a very old one. My dearly departed dad played until he was 96-97 and he always walked the course, never using a cart. Like him Icontinue to shun the use of carts. It’s, the walking, my way of getting in exercise during the season, which usually runs from around the end of March till mid November, where I reside.ποΈβοΈππ
On Golf I am not even a spectator, but I saw the "legend of Bugger Vance" and it was a happy scene when the golfing spirit came back to the desillusioned golfer.
@Earl-of-Trumps saidOh Early…you make me blush.π€
@Great-Big-Stees
