    Scotland is beautiful only on days that don't rain. The wettest winter I ever spent was a summer at the monastery in Eskdalemuir.

    That's nothing. I spent THREE whole winters under the Falls of Glomach. In a shoebox. With only empty shortbread wrappers for food.

    And I suppose you feel hard done by!

    Try spending all your youth being brought up in an Inverness cemetery, living in a Sainsbury's plastic bag, drinking rainwater from the graveside flower pots and having to work for free scraping the lichens off of headstones just for the privilege of being allowed to exist there.
