Scotland is beautiful only on days that don't rain. The wettest winter I ever spent was a summer at the monastery in Eskdalemuir.

That's nothing. I spent THREE whole winters under the Falls of Glomach. In a shoebox. With only empty shortbread wrappers for food.

We used to dream of having pots! We had to slurp dirty rainwater out of puddles in the road.
