How very interesting- it throws up a load of sites about hunting with a bow. I remember when I was new here, and knew nothing of our friend, I enquired if he liked archery, which is one of my passtimes, but he claimed he did not, if I remember correctly. Anyway...
I looked through those sites, and realised that you folk are lucky in the U.S. for one reason- you can shoot what you like- here I am only allowed to shoot at my target, which I erected in my back garden a few days ago. It's still fun, though. And if a bird happened to fly in front of the target- not one of my residential robbins, but a magpie, say, well then, that would be unfortunate. But I'd probably just miss, as I am still rubbish.
I also found, disturbingly:
"The mMHCneo vector was kindly provided by Lauren Field (14). SJEG-1 cells were transfected by electroporation (250 µF, 0.2 kV). Stable transfected lines were obtained by hygromycin selection (200 µg/ml). Transfected EG cells were differentiated on plastic and then on tissue culture surfaces. Upon the appearance of spontaneously contracting cells, G418 (400 µg/ml) was added until the culture fully consisted of rhythmically contracting muscle bundles. For generating chimeric mice, 8–12 EG cells were injected into C57BL/6 blastocysts. The injected embryos were transferred to pseudopregnant CD-1/VAF female mice."
That's not a good thing, then.
Right- I'm off to do some serious work, enough googling for now1
