Interesting article. I bet it also applies to misunderstanding tone in forum posts (Although, sometimes the tone is painfully obvious.)
it is a good article but I really don't think it says anything that remarkable, or as they say "secret." I've always disliked phone conversations, much more so email, because of the vast amount of miscommunication involved. Too muc of conversation is inferred by body language, gestures, tonage, emotions, ect.
