My mate is developing a simple new website tool for small businesses, he wants people to have a look and give feedback.

The project is in its embryonic stages, we'd appreciate as many sensible suggestions as possible.
Famous last words 😕
Thanks
The navigation is confusing. It's different on every page and leads to a fair few dead ends. You either have to hit the back button or jump back to the homepage to then go to other parts of the site.
The footer is too small - everything looks a bit cluttered down there. Also, if clients are going to be using those Login/Logout links they they really should be more obvious and above the fold (not hidden at the bottom of the site).
An online demo of or even just a few screenshots of the CMS you're offering would be nice. Most people would want to see the interface and how it works before buying into it.
To be honest, though, developing your own CMS system is a mammoth task. You might want to look at some of the other free CMS systems out on the market (such as Wordpress). Using an existing one could save your friend a hell of a lot of time and development work.

You can put your own logos and header pictures up (at a small extra cost)
We seem to agree with you about the navigation, it can be worked on.
Online demo of the CMS is a good idea...
I have already developed the CMS anyway. Wordpress I think is more of a personal blogging tool than a CMS - also much harder to set up and use.
