Ha-very funny (sarcasm). The book is Awareness by Anthony de Mello. You should pick it up and read it, you might learn something. I'm assuming you stopped your philosophy education after your freshman year (or did you even make it that far)! Just kidding. 🙂
Besides, it's based more on spirituality and psychology. He's got some strange theories, but it makes for interesting reading.
ouch! hey, i shoulda put a smiley, i thought i was being noticeably sarcastic. though those were the kind of 'logical ideas' we came up with in philosophy that i always felt were more noteworthy for their cleverness than for their meaning.

Putting all that aside, de mello is a good guy. i'd like to reread that passage in the context of the book. anyone who is trying to bring the spirituality back to christianity is a-ok in my book.

lol, "I'm not trying to date you, beautiful, I'm just trying to kiss you". In virtue of this line I ended up happily married. 😲
ooo, it's awful. I kinda expected something wordy from you 😉 But just for the record I haven't stopped laughing about :

Slimey : 'You are a thief'
Me ( bit taken aback ) : 'No, why?'
Slimey : 'Because someone's stolen the stars and put them in your eyes'

If he hadn't been so ugly I'd have given him the time of day for the sheer guts of it.

Anyway, carry on with your thread 😉

It's the first line of this part of a song, the lyrics go:

In the end you may find no guiding subtle light,
no ancestors, or friends.
no judge of wrong or right.
just eternal silence and dormancy,
and a final everlasting peace.

I like it, makes sense to me.I was gonna do the whole thing but that turned out to be way too much effort for me.

Ps Awesome pickup line bbar 🙂

ewwwwww that is really corny now isn't it. Men who strip themselves of all dignity by doing such an act can not possibly seem attractive to the opposite sex, can they?

Well, it was so original I was a bit taken back. Back just far enough to see he was a dirty old git. My senses were slightly dulled by alcohol, which is very rare for me.., but if he'd been less of a dog I think he might have got away with it. Sorry boys, it pays to be bad :😵😲

In my limited experience women like a man with a bit of courage, also they seem to prefer specific comments, if you say that they're beautiful then it won't go down too well. However, if you compliment them on their hair or something then it usually works, unless she's really not interested then you go down in flames. (try to avoid the eye's, unless they really are nice, as its alittle corny and oft used).

Jim.

P.S. sorry, this is a little of topic.
