1. would you say this is a good thing? i've been hearing stories about people loosing thousands and it all going down the drain that is paypal...and does anyone know if it's possible to use debit cards on? cause you need a card to be a seller, and it doesn't let me use mine...(tis a maestro)

however, you have to be careful for sure.
we sold a camcorder for $800 to someone in indonesia and paypal reversed the money he had paid because he was using someone elses credit card. luckily the guy reported this to paypal right away. paypal didn't report it to me though - it was only because i was looking around in my account with them that i discovered it.
i had already shipped the camcorder so it was too late and i wasn't covered by paypal's 'insurance' because the country was indonesia.
however, i had sent it via courier fortunately and thanks to an extremely diligent individual in their department they were able to recover the item for me minus the shipping of course. ebay naturally zapped the guy's account - they are pretty good i've found.
haven't done anything for a couple of years though so i don't know how things are these days.
