If that happens I'll let you know. But I don't think it'll drastically change my views on the topic.

While I don't think your life is pathetic I do think you haven't yet had the chance to truly experience the euphoria of love. It will come and it will knock you on your butt!
I do know your point of view on seeing relationships as messed up and as you well know I have been through the ringer myself more than once! But this has in no way altered my beliefs that love is the ultimate goal in life (which is completly seperate from a one off sex fest).
I have always been, and always will be a hopeless romantic. I beleive love can move mountains and yes, love conquers all.
We'll see after this upcoming weekend when you have three of your nieces crawling all over you what you think about love. Love comes in all forms, not just between a man and a woman.
I know you feel your eyes are open but is it possible you only have one eye open?
