I got it today 😀
They say this is the most powerful chess engine for PC and was only engine to draw against hydra.
I have fritz 8, hiarc's, chessmaster 10th edition & shredder 9 now.
And still can't beat any 🙁
But I'm getting there my d4 opening repertoire is getting narsty 🙂
Instead if you use well you can see good results against Humans.
GL with your software.
Yeah, Shredder is brilliant.

I have discovered with the shredder 9 that I have, that it is a learning machine. You have to feed it games for it to play for crap. It learns by running games. I don't know about that game that was played but it all depends on how you set up the engine to play. There are huge combinations of values that it places on play. It is all in how it is set up by the owner of the program.

Shredder does not change it's middle and endgame play intuitively based on previous games.
The game I posted was played in a tournament within the last week. The operator of the computer would obviously be someone who knew what they were doing. Apparently it was a hash table issue (where previous analysis of lines are stored so they don't have to be analysed again). One in a million chance apparently.
Originally posted by XanthosNZThat is what I meant by "feeding" it. if the hash tables are cleared you have nothing but the basic chess engine programming. It learns...I don't know if that is the right word for it, but anyway it stores data from analyzed games it has run through.

I thought that shredder was aquired by the dingle fritz family?
