One thing the RHP forums lack that I see on a lot of other forums is the "Signature" box where you can put a link to a picture or whatever to identify yourself or to add a bit of wisdom you wish to impart to everyone who reads your drivel, and it's automatically added to your post. Maybe the name at the end of posts put there by some posters is to make up for this absence.

Courteous salutation and/or a complimentary close infuse tone, which may vary with the purpose or mood of a letter or note (even phone call), email or internet site post. Even the absence of an actual or stylized signature communicates. Think of the tilde as an interim social epitaph.
