Has anyone heard of these guys? I just saw them on Later and they were great. Can anyone reccommend their album?

Agaetis Byrjun is my favourite.

I fell asleep three different times when I saw them live, they were that mesmerising.

Got Takk - first I've heard of them and the ethereal vocals take a bit of getting used to - but I really like it. Good in a mixed iPod playlist (maybe with some Husky Rescue)

The Ba-ba-Ti-ki-Di-Do EP (Music for Split Sides) made as the soundtrack to a ballet is great too. A little more experimental and less dreamy in parts, some of it vaguely reminiscent of Kid A.

Also check out the soundtrack to Angels of the Universe (Englar Alheimsins - forgive my poor Icelandic) with Hilmar Orn Hilmarsson.

Not been able to hear Takk yet, but shall be buying it as soon as I'm near a decent record shop. From the reviews it sounds as though they have actually written some more mainstream pop songs (albeit in Icelandic). Anyone got any views on it?

Apparently the mods don't like surrealistic, dense Icelandic indie-rock and my enthusiastic endorsement amounted to dangerous heresy. Perhaps they were upset by the eff-bomb I dropped to express my approval of SR.
