I was in a friends house once and as usual when visitors came
he was ever the genial host. The kettle went on and all the cupboards
were opened and we had a fine meal. Then the cupboards were opened
again and out came biscuits, cake, all manner of sweet treats and more tea.

God I said you'll have a lot for the dishwasher now.

Dishwasher? He said, none of those luxuries here.

What would I want a dishwasher for when I have four daughters?

All four daughters looked at him.

I looked away.

Hot shower,

something to eat and drink,

soft bed to sleep in.

A person told me a wise saying years ago.

He said make sure you have a soft bed or comfortable shoes,
because if you don't have one of those you better have the other.
