Simplified Q & A
Seems the obvious and objective First Question must of practical necessity simply be "Is there a question?". If the answer is in the negative, then just live life content eating and drinking and making merry, striving to make each day a good day. If the answer is in the affirmative, the logical Second Question becomes, "What is the question?".
Will Shakespeare reached a conclusion regarding the possible answer in act three, scene one of 'Hamlet': "To be or not to be – that is the question: Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer/ The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune Or to take arms against a sea of troubles/ And, by opposing, end them. To die, to sleep No more – and by a sleep to say we end/ The heartache and the thousand natural shocks That flesh is heir to – ‘tis a consummation/ Devoutly to be wished..."
Ancient graffiti postings discovered on public forum cave walls suggest a related answer to the second question: "Who are we; why are we here; where are we going; how will we get there?" One other answer might be: "To care or not to care - that is the question." Time may come when I no longer care. Right now, I happen to care... and I care intensely. -gb
