I bet you wouldn't even LOOK through a telescope to see ISS if it was there in front of you so you can keep your cognitive dissonance going for you. Don't want to have your little world rattled.
Hey, no big deal, keep your fantasies, the same thing happened to Galileo, people refused to look through HIS telescope also, didn't want to lose THEIR cognitive dissonance either.
