OK, Olav is on vacation again and has posted he wont be back 'till 7 August. He moved just before leaving in both our games and I have left my responses till the last moment. I have to move now or be exposed.
Problem is with a 3 day T/O and no T/B the auto eject will kick in long before he returns. This is one of those times when an opponent initiated clock stop would be warranted, especially in these pre-T/B tourneys that still have live rounds. ( no puns please )
I have to go with Exy on this: its either clocks off on vacation or no vacations. Why am I posting all this? - call it a pre-emptive strike because when Olav returns and discovers his matches gone I need everyone to know the situation was not of my making.
I do not want to go another round with the tall poppy brigade.
Regards to all .skeeter
PS any practical suggestions welcomed but no old baggage please. We all need to move on.

There's no solution to this.
I said it months ago and I say again: automatic timeout for every kind of game, like in other sites.
It is annoying i agree. Clocks off for vaction is open to too much abuse unless the annual vaction time is lowered a lot. Im not really in favour of automatic timeouts as this site should, in my opinion, be considered 'casual' in it's nature.
This said i can't really think of a better solution than auto timeouts though.

I appreciate your situation. I am very sick of the tall poppy syndrome on this site. There is a very could reason why I play 21 day timeouts ususally with 28 day time banks (they are at least 28 days when I set them), I wish to avoid this situation.
Currently I am in round 3 of two 1 day timeout tournaments but when I win (unlikely) or get beaten in them both they will be the last 1 day matches I play. I am even taking this further refusing to enter any tournament or play a clan match with less than a 14 day timeout.

Respect where respect is due ... I rec. your post ...
If it is a tournament game, just move and let it automatically timeout...I take it like that ... no vacation flag up (and no messages ... no mercy) ... vacation flag and NOT moving in other games ... mercy. If that person however writes, back on the 6th, I timeout on the 7th (latest 8t)...
I am sure you won't get stick for an automatic time-out in a tourney ... at least not from the Uchess leader ;-)
