Are we talking about smarties, those little disk candies about 1 cm in diameter?
I haven't thought about those since I was a kid, but we never had tubes or boxes. They just came stacked in a cylinder and wrapped in clear cellophane.

But, as you know my ability in *all* languages is limited, so the consensus was not clear to me.
