I heard SmartyJones is blind from the right eye,so he doesn't see the crowd and runs more concentrated.
However it's a good story,also the jockey was ''mister nothing'' before riding that horse................a true american story.

Maybe theyll make a movie about him like seabiscuit.

Smarty runs out of Philadelphia Park and folks around here are VERY excited about the Belmont. He's going in undefeated, which rings very positive for the Triple Crown.

Hey All HorseRacing Fans -

My horseracing buddy ( actually an owner of several racing horses himself, who runs them out of Philadelphia Park and other places) says that Smarty will likely go off with horrible odds, perhaps as low as 1-5.

Also, the field will be small - could be as few as 5 horses. Of which, according to him, will maybe be 3 contenders... the others just tossed in to try and win a part of the purse for the race.

He also said, for those betting... that the REAL money to be won that day is on the OTHER stakes races, because people who don't bet normally or frequently - these bettors will be dropping lots of dough on the other races waiting on the big one (you know... I'll pick the 8 and 2 horses because 82 is my favorite number).

Cool.
