Um, hope you enjoy it.
I would not choose to watch either of those two, although I did see Hendry play last year (yawn).
With time & ticket constraits we just picked friday @ 6 which was the 3rd 1/4 final (i think). Would rather have seen the rocket v davis or someone but those 2 will have to do.

I think you'll find he's nicknamed "The Nugget". - Steve Davis that is.
Snooker's a great game to watch - you can totally zone out everything else.

Does anyone remember "Whispering Ted" - he could send a speed freak to sleep with his voice..

Edit: Sorry, meant to reply to a different post!

I always thought his nickname was "interesting" in the early days of his career.

I remember Ted Lowe, he used to commentate on Pot Black as well years ago.

Well it always used to be sponsored by fags, what does that say?
Anyway, most of the audience are young!
And the players (apart from Davis, who is 48).

I think that was because he won everything, and gave very little away in his prime years. Different now. And ironically, he actually is a really witty bloke, as people now realise since he's been more involved in the broadcasting.

Very true! He's a lot better than John Parrot, who (personal opinion here), I think should stick to playing. He might actually get good again.

Snooker has gone to the doldrums a bit, the fag sponsorship brought a lot of money into the game, which has not been replaced by other sponsors - all the prize money etc has gone down dramatically (same in Darts - I think), so it's just not attracting younger players anymore, who all want to earn mega-millions in footy. The game needed people like Rocket Ronnie and Quinton "6 cans short of a six pack!" Hann to liven it up a bit.
Can anyone remember either Ronnie's 6.5 minute 147 or Quint's smashing the balls all around the table from the break - classic.

Let's just hope it's another sport that the BBC loses entirely - although I know a lot of tourneys are only shown on Sky now.

Edit: Just remembered Ronnie did a 147 in 5m 20s before the 6.5m one!
