Okay that might not seem like a big deal for the Northern Hemisphere crowd. But in Johannesburg, South Africa, it is a BIG deal. Its 25 years since the last major snowfall.

It may be fun to spy on a South African off-topic forum for the typical South African reaction to snow:

Its about as amusing as the NH'ers who ask us about the "lions roaming our streets" whenever we head North.

Hell, it's best snow I've had where I live for two decades!

I guess you've joined the euro-camp who assume all Americans are geographically challenged. I'll answer his question since you won't. Johannesburg, or Jo'burgh, as it is affectionately known by Kaffirs and Afrikanders, is a city in S. Transvaal, in the Rep. of S. Africa, and is only the most crime-ridden city in the world. Vacation at your own risk! A bottle of Jack Daniels will surely get you directions to a gay-bar or titty-bar, whichever suits you....

Joburg is in Gauteng province also affectionately known as Jozi. Your references and mindset certainly need updating.

Your utterly disgraceful racist comments are unwelcome. Take it elsewhere.

"Despite the fact that the U.S. military has been in Iraq for more than three years, six out of ten young Americans couldn't find it on a map of the Middle East. And nine out of ten couldn't find Afghanistan on a map of Central Asia."

This sentence contains two spelling errors, an anachronistic place name, and a racist term which could land you in court should you see fit to use it in public. On the other hand, you might fit in quite well in Orania.

Not to drift the thread too much, Bossy, but I just saw the film "Tsotsi" 😲 You know it?

πŸ˜€ Well-made movie, though I had trouble believing in that kind of epiphany and redemption in a thug. πŸ˜• Otherwise, however, it seemed a realistic snapshot of Jo'Burg & the Townships πŸ™„ Comments?

Not seen it yet, I've heard it's a very good film and will try and see it soon. But then City of god is a great movie but I don't know if it's a true likeness of the city.
