This recipe was so good I had to share here. I've got a LOT of great feedback on this subject, and even made new friends.

Boiled Dinner:

One Hunk of Corned Beef (I got a flat one, so cut it in half)
BIG POT!~
3 bullion cubes
Heaping teaspoon of ground coriander
Put that in the pot of cold water and bring to simmer, not boil.

After 3 hours or so add...

7 Potatoes
3 onions

Wait a half hour or so, and...

1 Head of Cabbage (quartered)

Pretty much the whole time you want a slow simmer, not a rapid simmer and not a boil.

My hunk of meat was pretty thin, so you might want to let the meat go 3.5 or 4 hours before getting into the veggies.

It is great.

Question about substitutes:

If I don't have cabbage can I use dirty rags or foiled underwear?
If I don't ahve any corned beef can I use corned stool?

Traditionally, this would be served comfortably warm into one's cupped hands.

I tried this but was a tad disappointed.

I was more of less out of vegetables and so added 7 baby potatoes and 3 Shirleys' Giant Exhibition onions and a red cabbage, all I could taste was onion. I was a little suprised as to why it needed 14 lbs of onion but followed your recipe to the letter.

Next time you put up a recipe could you please clarify the size of the ingredients. 😛

Many thanks
