Ted Nugent, Gary Moore, Phil Lynott, Sammy Hagar. Damn shame... I take no notice of modern music, I see enough on the telly with first one having a crisis of confidence & another having there F/ing nails painted.

You make a good case with those first few points. They're well-founded. Today's music is way too tame. But it doesn't submit voluntarily. Today's artists cannot control the media and promotions filter.
Anyway, I do disagree with that last statement. The 1990's provided an excellent run in musical creativity.

I agree with you except for country music. Country has increasingly become more like pop. I think Taylor Swift had a lot to do with that; a country starlet who switched to pop with an ungodly amount of success.
