After Kanouté's wondergoal at the weekend I reckon I may become a little more full-time 😀

And Exeter won 3-2 away at Barnet. Maaarvellous.

Anyone got a view on the England/Rio situation? Personally, If the players, or should I say, overpaid spoilt brats want to strike, let them. Just simply remind them that Chris Sutton has never worn an England shirt again since saying he was too big for the B team. Somehow thou, the mighting FA are frightened to do the same with the current bunch of overpaid morons. The FA are spineless, when its Johnny noname in the third division, they charge them and ban them and yet when the likes of Shearer and Beckham misbahave, they are invited in for a "chat"........ I say one rule for all, hit them bloody hard and fast, So far the only people ive found defending Ferdinand are linked to manure).......

alarmingly a lot of this argument has been linked into the fact that the players are defending a member of their union who has been wronged by the "management" failing to undergo "due process".

Could you see the likes of Beckham and Owen agreeing to strike action due to the mis treatment of a Hull City player? Imagine Paul Scholes telling Alex Ferguson he was not going to play a Champions League quarterfinal because of due process effecting a member of the PFA at a third division team? No, this argument just remainds me of the spolit little boys in class tring to find a new way to be "clever" with a weak teacher.

Are not unions supposed to organise labour to give it rights to protect itself from the excess of capitalism, it seems that by attempting to use the concept of unionism and the threat of strike action these mean are making a mockery of the labour movement. The whole situation has gone full circle.

As for Ferdinand, he should be banned for two years. It is a simple as that, just because he is a footballer, an England international, a Manchester United pin up, a "nice bloke", or someone who has never taken drugs - he failed the drugs test by default. In all other sports, you fail and you are out. Being famous, rich or even good looking does not put you above the law. If cricket can ban Warne, football can surely ban Ferdinand.

This just seems indicitive of a broad section of British Society who seem to think rules and regluations do not apply to them.

As for football, as a sport it seems to be quickly falling from its dizzy hights of the mid 90's, the ideal of a classless family sport where the whole family could enjoy a fun day out are nearly forgotten. No, the estate boys in the Burberry hats, Hackett tops, and shaved heads are reclaiming their battle grounds; it becomes increasingly difficult to find affinity with a sport that is becoming thugs and idiots in stands supporting thugs and idiots on the pitch. When I was a kid I wanted to grow up and be a footballer - thank god I grew out of that dream quickly!

Been a Birmingham City fan since 1962 and it's so nice to be back in the top flight. We're not the prettiest team in the league but we've got to start somewhere. Most successful sides are based on a sound defence so that's where Steve Bruce has started. Matthew Upson was a steal and I can't believe Arsenal rated Martin Keown above him. Hopefully we ...[text shortened]... ar and then maybe better players might start considering a move to St.Andrews. I can only hope!!
Does Trevor Francis still play? 😏 (He was magic in my day)

Been 36+ years living in the States so have lost touch with the players and teams, but was a Manchester City fan in the 60's even though I lived near and went to a lot of Birmingham City games (They were my second favs)

Trevor Francis playing? Good grief! He's in a managerial career now. Is he still with Crystal Palace anyone?

No we sacked him towards the end of last season thank god. He managed to turn us from a top of the league, premiership bound club into a run-of-the-mill midtable bunch of losers. I don't think he is currently at a new club, but he gets my nomination for the vacant post at Millwall... hopefully he can do to them what he did to us!

No! Old Chelsea legand Dennis Wise should carry on despite getting himself sent off after 2 minutes.
