There has been a lot of talk of late about newbies and others filling forums with inane garbage. unfortunately, a bit of friction and harsh words have been exchanged. I think it's time for some levity, and in order to achieve this, I've decided to make fun of everyone equally. Here is a parody of Kipling's White Man's Burden.
THE PAWNSTAR'S BURDEN
Take up the pawnstar's burden-
Commit a mighty deed,
Go bind yourselves to Red Hot Ted,
or serve King Vaknso's need.
To lay heavy handed lecture,
on newbies newly seen,
those barbarian bad spellers
who number nine-eighteen.
Take up the pawnstar's burden-
With no mercy toss aside
and loudly tear asunder
Joe King's jello pride.
By open speech and simple
A thousand times made plain,
Like Hellen's fates cut threads
Which you deem to be inane.
Take up the pawnstar's burden-
The savage war of MAP
fill full the tally of your posts,
Call a castles words sad crap.
And when your goal is nearest,
the place for which you sought,
Watch newbie, impostor evil
Reduce your cliques to nought.
Take up the pawnstar's burden-
Obey the rule of kings
And toil at the chess board
Of which one Rhymester sings.
There are tournaments to enter
(Where non-stars dare not tread)
So moderate our words
And destroy the greatest thread.
Take up the pawnstar's burden
And reap his old reward:
The rule of a Diplomat
Enforced by mighty sword.
Watch him as he digs at Troy,
And brings us to the light,
Why stole he admiration
From each glorious MAP knight?
Take up the pawnstar's burden-
Else ye must confess
The stupidity of what ye post
And play ten games or less.
But if ye cry and whisper
All that ye shall do
Is attract the wrath of those entrenched
And they shall humble you.
Take up the pawnstar's burden-
Exterm'nate childish ways
Or confine them to a forum
Far from the light of days.
Be ye lover of a chicken
Or of raccoons and squirrels
Examine what ye utter
'Ere through the aether it whirls!
Undertand that no insult is meant to anyone (and sorry Schliemann, you got it kind of nasty in the poem 😉)
Originally posted by vaknsoI hope so as well. I do feel that there is a small community here within the masses who are 'kindred' spirits, and even thought we may disagree within the forums, we still maintain a comaraderie and respect for each other. Bryan 😉
The site has grown and grown until we have gotten to the point we have lost the community spirit that existed. Not sure if we can get it back. I hope so.
