Tune in tomorrow (on my blog) when I cleverly mix "The Beach", "Mash", "Catch 22", "The Celestine prophecy" and "murder" together in a lovely broth of prose
Why do I bother?
Oh well...

This is me outside the temple of skulls. Recognisable by the false skulls everywhere.
Note my belt. It's a scarf. I wanted a belt, but the Indian head-bob (including smile and "okay" ) won the day and I walked away with a scarf instead.

People bathing in the Ganges, next to the "Ghat" where they burn dead people. When you return to your hostel after a walk along the ghats and blow your nose, black ash comes out your nose. That's dead people you are actually snottering.

The view from a train.

A family of monkeys. These monkeys didn't attack me.
If you go to: http://shavixmir.blogspot.com/2006_02_01_shavixmir_archive.html
And scroll down to: "Planet of the apes", you can read a harrowing account of a pack of monkeys which did attack me. Because of the x-rated language, I'm not gonna post it here.

I make them sweat for their 5 rupies! (roughly 10 Euro cents).
No, I took the photo for my blog. Sometimes I need to get serious or angry, and then a little picture of poverty can go a long way to create an atmosphere.
Not everything you see in life is good.

Why do your parents take photos of drying cow dung Varg?
But they do take odd photos.
Including one of a child beggar who had pierced his tongue and put a small stick through it.
Not sure why he thought he would get more money that way - "Look at me, I'm poor and I've put a stick through my tongue".

Then when you give them some money they say: "No, no money please, could you just buy us some milk?"
So you buy them some milk (you're charged over the odds) and when you're gone they re-sell the milk to the shopkeeper.
So he makes a profit and the children get more money than what they'd have received otherwise.
I do like being "had" when it's creative.
