I would like to publicly apologize to "cashthetrash" for the uneccesarily harsh and insulting posts that I answered him with during our "conversation" about southern states/war. It was a misunderstanding on my part. Once again, sorry cash, and peace to all....😞

A small town in N.C. Where men are men, and pigs are nervous, 😵

I live in Kentucky but just a few miles from the Tennessee line. What is so amazing to me is that it is like Louisville does not even exist even though they are ranked 5th or 6th in the country. Alabama fans are just about as bad as Tennessee fans.

But you have to go and get personal, so I got personal too. Its a childish argument. The whole country should hang its head in shame over that war, its an embarrasing part of our history. You want to insult me go ahead, I really don't give a sheet what you think about me, you don't know me. You're nothing to me
Well, excuse me, Mr. teacher! Looks like I struck a nerve and made you change your avatar...damn, I'm powerful! I never was "under it" in order to "get over it", moron. I bet your students think you're a 'geek'. Yeah, the first battles were confusing due to the similarities in flags, but many a dumbass 'yank' died for said reason. I'm not bitter ...[text shortened]... 't need a "break"; you need a slap in the face with a good History lesson.....

Originally posted by PocketKingsYou're right, PocketKings. We were acting childish. I apologize, and I hop you can accept it. I also want to thank you for teching our youth and preparing them for tomorrow; teaching is a "thankless" job in our society. IMHO you teachers are up there with Doctors, Engineers, Researchers, and other professionals; you and your colleagues are definitely worth more than those complaining multi-million dollar athletes and ambulance-chasing lawyers. The Civil War was terrible, but in the end it defined us, in the eyes of the rest of the world, as THE UNITED STATES instead of those united states. Peace.

But every body should remember it was a war of northern aggression and greed
Originally posted by rowpcI'm curious, rowpc. How is it that someone from "down under" can have such an interest in the southern U.S. and its history? Have you ever been to the states? What is it about our Civil War that intrigues you? Could it be that "self-determination" of U.S. southerners and that of the Aussie independent "psyche" be the one and same? Are you a History-buff? Just curious....
