Wednesday it hit 80 degrees in the Detroit area. Today there is about an inch of snow on the ground. Can't put those sweaters away just yet. :'(

The weather in Britain hasn't been very surprising, but I had an unexpected weather experience in Prague a week ago. Instead of raining all the time (which was the weather forecast), it didn't rain at all, 3 out of 4 days we had almost no clouds, and the temperature got up above mid-July levels (by Prague standards) by the end of the week. I hardly expected to get sunburn in April in a country which is usually colder than the UK!

And it's STILL snowing just 50 miles north of you. They say we might get 4-5 inches by morning. 🙁

Still snowing here in Ann Arbor as well. Coming down pretty hard too. Had to brush a lot of snow off my car when I made the mistake of going out. I had foolishly thought those days were gone for the year.

Send it over this way, I don't mind snow. I don't like summers but do like autumns and winters.
We had snow about a month ago, but it is in this area quite a rare occasion nowadays.

That's fair enough.

But you're talking about the bloody WEATHER!
In the northern parts of the US and most of Canada, the weather is an extremely important topic. We had well over 25 cm (a foot) of heavy, wet snow dumped on us last night. We knew it was coming, but not how much.

If you were not prepared for the WEATHER, you would not have known that to drive a car on the roads before the plows came thru would be a very dangerous activity. Actually, this morning, impossible.

If you don't pay attention to the weather in the winter, you might be foolish enough to go out for the evening without appropriate safety gear in your car, when the temp is expected to drop to minus 30 C (minus 21 F). Its not uncommon to become stuck in the snow, and if you aren't dressed properly, with at least a shovel in the car, you can die.

And some people do. Just not the smart ones.
