According to BBC Scotland, today is Squirrel Appreciation Day.

I know darkness is creeping in (GMT) but there's still time to get out there and appreciate a squirrel.

Since moving to NZ we really miss the urban squirrels and foxes.
Our daughter has lots of picture books with them in but she will
probably not see any during her childhood.
