Why did an American put 6 million US for the competition?

I also told he has put up 5 million US for a one off 20/20 between SA and the West Indies (winner take all).
That is more than what the winners of the world cup will get.

That game will be in November I think. Pretty sweet, our boys need the bonus.

I'm not sure what the guy's motivation was... Maybe it's a case of 'once you go black, you never go back'.

This is a good article on Stanford comparing him to Paker and world series cricket

Anything that gets the struggling West Indies really competing again is a good thing in my book.

If only some billionaires would invest directly in SA cricket, so we can bypass corrupt and stupid administrators, I could die happy.

I watched a lot of the games on sky, on paper West Indians playing 20/20 should be as good as it gets to watch. To be fair though, there was not a lot of talent outside the main power houses of West Indian Cricket. Is there much 20/20 is SA yet, we have had it for 4 years now and its a sell out event pretty much at every ground

We've had 2 local seasons of it and it's been relatively successful. Cricket needs this on an international scale to throw the stuffy test match image.

It's got my vote, but I'm biased, slogging is the only way I know to bat.

Very good article but from what I read there he is nothing like Paker in terms of why he is doing it.

Still enjoyed watching it even though the standard was not great in most of the games.

Lets also hope it gets the Windies going again.

Well done Mr Stanford.

But 5 mil for the winners of SA v Windies is a bit much given the World cup winners only get half that.
