Yes, I am touchy about these things. If you need reminding, this is first and foremost a chess site. NOT religious and/or political debates. We're not talking threads here, BTW. I couldn't care what happens about the little pr*ck, but I don't want his stuff in my mailbox. Pretty simple, really. He can post what he wants in the appropriate forums, but leave my mailbox alone.

Lets face it if he had been really out of order then they would have (& rightly so) terminated his account. But they haven't, so whatever he has done couldn't be that bad. I suspect that the site admin & mods are just being difficult because of his stubborn attitude towards his supposed freedom of speach rights & this sort of campaign that he is running to get people to champion his cause. Personally I'm in favour of letting him back in. I full expect that once things have settled down, site admin will lift the band. It's only a stupid forum afterall & letting him back won't exactly be the end of the world.

Since it's no big deal to delete a PM without reading it or to ignore his posts (like I used to do with StarValleyWay's far worse spamming in Debates) , I'm saying "general etiquette" would dictate that he be allowed to stay and post. The TOS is extremely vague in its sections about forum behavior; I'm sure it was meant to be to give the Site Admins maximum flexibility. They certainly have the power to ban STANG or never let him post if they so choose; I'm just saying I think that's a bit of an over-reaction to someone who's merely an annoyance at most.
