He was an Admiral longer than you think. Don't forget he STARTED the movie series as an admiral, he just commandeered the Enterprise during Star Trek: The Motion Picture". There was a fair span of time between that and "The Wrath of Khan". Hence the radical change in uniforms to show the difference... and because the older ones were ridiculous.

I MIGHT have made it, except for the C.Mast, and my early discharge orders. Should have been E3 before I left, but they didn't want to promote so close to the date. Something about the separation check I'd imagine...

I cross rated, but in the long run I should have just popped some butter bar up side the head. Took me almost 9 months to get my crow back in my new rating.
