I must say that although my star is meant to be red it does look more of a dark orange on some monitors... perhaps Russ has used up all the red.. πŸ˜‰

Andrew,

Maybe Russ is saving back on the red for another few moves and the 100,000 moves! Whats next - a black one?

Good stuff Olav!
I'm still waiting...

Naah, I'm just thinking about that comment that Rhymester used to be on 24:7. I'm just wondering how many moves can you 'realistically' make in a day?

My total number of moves divided by the number of days I've been registered = average of 114 moves per day.

Compare that with someone like eddie anders (the current MAP of the Month) who is making an average of 284 moves per day.

There is, however, a big difference with how many moves you can make and how many considered moves you can make πŸ˜‰

Yeah, I played against one of these very active players and took out all his pieces except his queen and a pawn with my queen.
Do you think maybe this MAP of the month stuff makes a mockery of this site.

If your oppenent is not trying to compete in a game they are just making a mockery of themselves! Why play just to make moves? Anyone can be made to look poor by a superior player, but if you are not trying to at least compete in a game you do have to question the brains of the person - there must be something better to do in life than make chess moves for no reason!

I think it's harmless fun really... if someone wants to go for it at least they only have to keep it up for a month... I think we'll see some more cases of burn out in the moinths to come.. that is unless Russ was serious about scrapping MOTM.

Exactly, but if you take away the MAP of the month then these players will not have anything to play for - which relates directly towards the quality of play.

I'm not a brilliant player - my rating was less than 1100 at one stage, but I've clawed my way back up to a kinda respectable 1240.
Actually I shouldn't talk about these guys, some of them are the reason I got my rating back up πŸ˜€

Smart Guy😏
I don't understand it, if they are moving for moves and move directly, why don't they take 2 seconds instead of 1 to look at a situation and make a move that doesn't leads them into trouble? This way, the games take longer and they can make more moves!!

Yes, and this at least makes a chess game of it.
Not just manic random clicking.

if there is a point to a post, even if it is just to enquire about someones hair style, or brand of underwear, nobody will mind in the slightest (well, i might be abit worried about the underwear one).
