Can't really blame him, Liverpool shined too bright that night.
Lampard/Ballack will be for Chavski what Lampard/Gerrard are for England.
They won't play together very well and then it's who does Maureen pick and will the one left on the bench be motivated/quiet whilst they sit out the games.....
This season i can see the Real madrid affect on Chavski, too many quality players, too much time on the bench.......
Originally posted by millermanI don't expect him to be top scorer, but he's one of the most effective strikers out there. He'll open up the space for Lampard and Ballack, like he did in Milan.

The difference to Real is that Mourinho has only hard-working players (again, with the exception of Ballack) while Real had mostly players who were used to be the star of the show.
It's sad to say this before a ball's been kicked, but it does seem that the title's Chelski's for the taking. A couple of things that may knock them off their stride : a good run in the Champions League which causes them to take their eye off the ball, and more of the sort of complacent indolence from their big stars that we saw in Lampard (and others) at the World Cup.
Arsenal's young team could be in with a shout - Henry is such a phenomenal player.
My team Everton are shaping up nicely : probably stronger than the team who qualified for the Champions League in 2005, but it's so hard for a club like Everton to do this again, because we're always competing against 3 or 4 clubs so awash with money that their reserves are all top internationals.
Originally posted by bolshevikI haven't really been following Everton's pre season, but can you honestly say they will finish in the top 6. Who have you brought of note that will make an impact in the prem and catapult your team up the table?? if anything i say your going backwards with the likes of the Spuds finishing above you.

Mid table would be a good season, UEFA beyond your wildest dreams....Sorry fella, but thats reality, feel free to bump this thread next May 😛
Utd will be the biggest challengers.....
I do not see Utd taking the title from Chelski though as they seem to have winning in the blood now (@ least in the prem).
It will take a season for the youngsters @ Arsenal to get going.
Liverpool are a cup team, Bellamy & Pennant are not championship winning players.
Originally posted by trevor33Not about scoring goals for us, it's about the supply we desperatley needed last year from the right.
couldn't agree more, ballamy's a good players but pennant??? the guy scores about 1 goal every 50 games.
We have that now, as Pennant was the leading crosser last year in the prem.
Gonzalez on the left also providing the crosses, means Bellemy and Crouch along with Fowler and possibly Kuyt will have all the ammunition to bang in the goals.
Bellemy got 13 last year in an average Blackburn side, with Gerrard and Alonso along with the wingers knocking in the crosses, he'll have a field day....
