Just got this "CD" today which is absolutely chock full of some nasty DRM goodness. ðŸ˜
So if you want to be able to play the CD in your car, make a disc backup, convert to MP3 etc just don't bother.
This is NOT an AUDIO CD by that standard and so should not be sold as one (I had no warning from on-line retailer) it is a PC CD effectively. However, I'm not even going to risk putting it in my PC after the Sony debacle.
What really P*SSES me off, is that I buy 100% original. I must have over 300 other original CDs that I have no problem with. I hate piracy and wouldn't touch a copied discs as you have no idea what you are getting and where the illegal profits go next.
The funny thing is I saw pirated Coldplay XY discs on sale in a car boot a few weeks back. So congratulations EMI, you haven't stopped piracy but you have managed to alienate someone who spends lots on original CDs.

All I can say is thank god for the analogue hole, at least I'll be able to get this pile of crap on my music jukebox.
[One other thing, apparently this is not enough to be able to request a refund for the disc in the UK, unless someone can tell me otherwise? Is it not false advertising to call it a music CD?]
Your post reminded me of something someone sent me yesterday, a 'letter' to Viz I believe :
"The record companies would have us believe that the money made by CD pirates goes to fund the drug industry. But the money rock stars make from legal record sales ends up in exactly the same place. When they stop breaking the law, so will I. P Boddington, Ringway"
