Just obey the rules and keep things simple as possible. Learn. Understand. Think within your expanding

frame of reference. Apply the principles and truths you've learned. Solve life's daily challenges with grace

under pressure. Why waste any time answering your monosyllabic or polysyllabic critics? History does that.

Could you direct me to one of the more interesting threads?

Perhaps one you have started, to show us all how it is done?

not the point. what i'm on about is pointing out rubbish that is dressed up as philosophy or deep thought or meaningful advice.

rubbish that is honest about being rubbish doesn't need to be pointed out.

All you are talking is cow dung!

You are saying how bad the threads are, but I don't see you trying to show us what good threads are.

I think you are just full of hot air, and looking for someone to pick on, and if a few others agree with you, all the better huh!

No, here is what you are doing. You are going into someone else thread, and saying how terrible it is on a pretty routine basis now.

I don't see you starting any of your own threads. Are you afraid someone like yourself will come along and do the same thing to you as you are doing to GB?

well, i do start threads in culture, and some private forums. in chess also, but not for a while. i tested the water with the moral dilemma (2) thread, and got about the response i expected. i'm happy to start more threads in gf, if you really want to see them.

anyone is welcome to post criticism in any of my threads, or take them off topic, or whatever. it really won't bother me at all.

i'll bet GB gets short shrift in the other public forums.

At least if you are trying to make a contribution yourself, it will not make you look like all you do is critic other posters.

What I am saying is if you figure you make interesting threads, then by all means do so. It is way better than jumping on every thread a particular poster makes on here.

"history vindicates the critics of fools..."

Wrong. Simple villagers take care of that by ignoring threads of fools.

History has better things to do than vindicate over-reaching critics.

just goes to show you don't know history any better than you know philosophy, science, or anything else. history has vindicated the critics of Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Chamberlain, Nixon, the Spanish Inquisition etc. ad nauseum.

i really do hope you keep posting your vacuous rubbish masquerading as wisdom. it provides raw material for the purpose of debunking such, you charlatan. go on, try to impress us with what you are pleased to regard as your brilliance. every post you make contains the seeds of its own undermining.

oh, and fundamentalist religious agenda is painfully obvious, despite your efforts to disguise it.

In one of his essays, W.H. Auden observes that the primary responsibility of the critic is to draw attention to worthwhile books, plays

and writers we may have otherwise overlooked. Simple counterpoint is that critics need not bother with 'junk' which disapears by itself.
