We lost power briefly about 10 times during the night and wake up to downed branches but no damage to our house which has withstood the test of time, built in the year 1885.
I had prepared as best as I could, generator checked out, about 20 gallons of gasoline in 5 gallon plastic containers, which I found out would only give us about one day's worth of electricity.
In hindsight, a better choice would have been a natural gas powered generator with gasoline backup but I have what I have.
We got through the superstorm (1600 Kilometers wide!)
It's still hanging around but with much diminished ferocity.
We had 80 MPH (130 Km/hr) winds but still have power now. No cell phone service however and I cannot get through to my company so probably will not be going to work today considering predictions of high wind gusts leftover from the main storm.
As we speak the center of the storm is right on top of us so right now, winds are minimal. My above ground pool is overflowing however, must have gotten (Still getting) a lot of rain, probably 8 inches (about 13 cm).
All in all we fared a lot better than most.

Our prayers are with you all. I have been keeping in touch with chess buddies living in New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Ohio. My dear friend in North Carolina has not been heard from for three days, so she may be without power. I asked our pastor to pray for the people in the path of the storm on Sunday morning, but our prayers continue. Audrey
