Cryptic, standard similar to Sunday Times.

1. Alloy specialists bumped into everyone initially understanding refinement's main points.

2. Bumped into vocal sensitivity specialists who study alloys.

The first one is a little long and the second one doesn't contain a true homophone but rather a sound-alike. I'm sure someone can come up with something better but this was fun. 🙂
