The UK is officially the 51st state now - they were discussing on the radio that the uk will be sending 22 delegates to the final democrat showdown thingy - as a reflection of the choices made by US citizens living in the uk - this being almost as many delegates as some of the smaller states.

Is this correct?

You will have to be the 52nd state as Australia is the 51st.America has bought so much of us now, we are thinking of re naming the place to Ameristralia.

Actually... the US doesn't have 50 States. Only 47 or so.
Seemingly a couple of "states" are municipalities...

Well, according to QI and Stephen Fry, that is.

Actually he may win as many as 6 or 7 tonight. I think Lester Maddox and George Wallace have rolled over in their graves tonight. Who would have thought a black man could win in Alabama and Georgia.

Hmmm. I always thought Canada was the 51st state. A really big state. At least that's what we kept telling that guy from Toronto who lived down the hall in college.

He always seemed upset whenever we brought this up...
