Found this Taj Mahal compilation called Taj Mahal Eseentials and one one cut, "Queen Bee" I heard this intriguing voice and the liner notes said it was this woman Ramatou Diakite. I was really taken by the beauty in her voice and found her website, she lives in Africa, not sure if she speaks english but she turned up at the Montreal Jazz festival.
Anyway here is a link to her site and click on 'media' and you will find some samples of her work. I find her incredibly exotic and a beauty in every way.

Where's the link?
And can this woman be taken seriously at all anyway? She did willingly visit Canada.

check out the media tab, she has some interesting songs there, african instuments and some more modern bluesy stuff too. I like the pure african sound better..
