The Executioner pulled off a big upset, eh? Wish I had seen the fight so I could comment further. Good match, was it?
Hopkins came out looking stronger than Tarver and took it to him immediately. He landed more blows, and controlled the fight reasonably well. In the 5th Hopkins stunned Tarver and got a standing 8 count out of it and the decision was already starting to become one sided. In my opinion Tarver only won maybe 2 rounds.
When I realized that my bet would pay off as long as Hopkins fought conservatively I started getting nervous, he didn't fight as conservatively as he could have gotten away with until the very end. I think he wanted to send a message.
I am pleased with the result but I would not have bet Hopkins in even money. Tarver was probably too busy making movies to take the challenge seriously, and the crowd was total Hopkins since it was in AC and he is a Philly legend.
