@moonbus saidWe are better than those who cause us to suffer, yes, but we do have responsibility to stop that train where it dumps us. We have to remain bigger than that which is thrust upon us. Some never make it. I was driven to survive because I wanted to look them in the eye one day and say "You didn't win. You never defeated me. I'm still standing." I never got that chance because they turned out to be weaker than I was and they never made it out of the hell of their own making. [/shrug]
@Suzianne
I know it does not feel that way in the moment, but it is better to suffer injustice than do it.
Whoever said life is fair was an idiot.
@Suzianne saidIt wasn’t your job to save them.

@Very-Rusty saidWell yes and no. Evolutionarily speaking, cooperation is what facilitated our evident survival chances above Neanderthals and Denivsovans. On the other hand, we are not responsible for the neuroses of others (unless of course we’ve gaslighted them). In a general sort of way, yes we all bear a responsibility for the general weal. And we assume responsibility for specific persons along the way (such as children, the handicapped, etc. ); it’s complicated.
