Eh, I didn't want anything too rocky. If I did I would pick Nirvana first. Pearl Jam is nice but they don't have as much variety as Nirvana (sure PJ has more songs, but they also have more songs that sound exactly the same.
I ended up using Pandora and falling asleep. A good afternoon. 🙂
I guess I'm addicted to consistancy.

Oi!
I don't know how you can say Pearl Jam is repetative?
Maybe it seems that way because they made so many more albums than Nirvana.
Nirvana has their short career and the fact that you can tell what Kurt is saying at least half the time going for them. 😛

True, you can probably understand his words better than Vedder's in most songs.
Originally posted by mlpriorActually, Kurt probably wasn't the most talented one in the band, that honor probably goes to Dave Grohl. Kurt is just the one everyone remembers because of the way he died and his 'poetry' (it's in quotes because he wrote a lot of his songs right before recording them, just throwing words together).

I do like the first two PJ albums, and a handful of songs after that. They're quite good. But I think the longevity does hurt them, ironically. I have no doubt the same would've happened to Nirvana had they kept going (probably sooner).
