My father’s parents & siblings lived in Russia until they moved to Poland during the Russian Revolution in 1917. I still have paternal cousins in Russia so I could in fact be of half Russian descent though my father always considered himself Polish having been born in Poland in 1919.

My Swedish grandfather traced his family tree back to a Belgian immigrant in 1599. Should I claim Belgian ancestry and become entitled to an EU passport, or is that a bit too much like homeopathy?

I am half Norwegian, with a Swedish citizenship. Should I claim to be Norwegian too and be entitled to some of their oilfields?

‘Some Norwegians have British-Irish heritage, while some Swedes have Finnish / Baltic / Russian heritage’.

You'd think by my last name I'd be English, but no, they were Irish that came to the US from Australia.
You'd think by my mom's maiden name we were Scott, but no, Scottish that migrated to Russia then to the US.

Can I claim immigrant status?
