Once "lust" was seen in a similar light. "Are you an animal?", "What good has come of lust?", "How many rapes were caused by lust?". Luckily, we now recognize that the emotion is not that uni-dimensional and can be perfectly healthy in most cases.

Sure. But, again, pride is not uni-dimensional. Like the link above so well puts it, there can be a positive dimensions to it a negative ones (hubris). All I'm saying is that it isn't necessarily bad.
So yes, good things can come from delusion given the apparently chaotic nature of reality, but then again good things can come from anything. Doesn't necessarily make pride a good thing.

My reply was a response to your "isn't necessarily bad" comment as well as your "not uni-dimensional" comment. I say it all stems from exaggeration and delusion - that is uni-dimensional and is necessarily bad in itself.
