First he purposely saved his first win of the season to beat the NY Yankees.

Now he put off reaching .500 for the last game of a sweep against NYY.

Sox WILL be in first place by the all star break.

#1's Reds seem very hot this year. Every time I have Sports Center on I see Reds have won. They have won something like 11 out of 13 I heard today.

Sorry No1! Turned on Sports Center today and said, "D'oh"! I really hate when I affect the universe like that.

Yes, it's a complete disaster. We're now a half and a game out and have only 118 left to play! It's all over.:'(

Oh come now...if you can't beat the Pirates in May, you'll be beating yourself in September!! 😉

DEAR GOD! Thank goodness the Sox have 119 games left. They need to go 77-42 to get their 100 wins this season.

I'll take a 7 day period where we win 3 against the Cards, 2 against the Cubs (though they look pretty bad) but lose 2 against the Pirates. If the Reds go at that pace, they'll be pouring champagne on each other in September (AGAIN).

"IF" is a mighty big word there, but sure, you are correct.
As I stated before, I think the Cardinals will win it.

Cards are pretty much the NYY of NL, no?

Nooooo, not by a long shot.
They are a very winning franchise, with the best manager in the NL, possibly in both leagues.
They have a solid system up and down the organization.
They don't overspend or over pay for players (as do the Yankees frequently).

The Dodgers would be the closest match for longevity of success to the Yankees,
and for the ability to spend.
The Mets are probably the closest match to foolish spending practices.
